The Jupiter in 7 Videos Are Late, and Here's Why
The Jupiter in 7 Videos Are Late, and Here's Why
I owe you videos. I know I do. I've been recording them. I've been going live, getting ready with you, and filming every single date. What I haven't done is press play on the recaps.
So here's the honest version of why, and fair warning: I cried writing it.
What I thought Jupiter in the 7th would be
When I was writing my book, I went back and looked at the last two times Jupiter moved through my seventh house. My seventh house is Leo, by the way, which matters here.
Twenty-four years ago, Kaleb was born. I got to just be a mom, and for the first time in my life, things were easy. I learned unconditional love by giving it, and it came so naturally to me, coming from a childhood where I hadn't felt any of that. It changed everything.
Twelve years ago, the next time Jupiter came through, I reconnected with my dad. That was beautiful and healing, and it fixed things in me I didn't know were broken. It helped me love myself more, and it helped me choose better. Or so I thought.
Both of those Jupiter in 7 moments are in my book, the Manifest 22 Transit Guidebook, with all the details, so if you want to know what actually happened, that's where to find it.
I wrote in the book that not all love is romantic. I believe that. Sometimes the love that heals us isn't romantic at all. It's just love. Pure, plain, life-changing love.
But I'll be honest: I did the son. I did the father. I'm definitely not making out with my mother. So I figured this time had to be romantic. Jupiter in Leo, in my seventh house, my turn. (The South Node is in Leo too, but that's a story for another day.)
What I didn't see coming
I came into this season with more damage than I realized. I spent years in a relationship that was emotionally, physically, and mentally abusive. The person I dated for two years after that didn't abuse me, and I want to be clear about that. He just didn't treat my heart well either.
So here's where I am, and I'm crying while I say it: I'm scared of men. I'm scared of how they love you one day and are awful to you the next. I'm always the same, and the men I've loved never were. That inconsistency scares me more than almost anything.
For eight years, my birthday and Valentine's Day have landed me at a bar seat because nobody bothered to make a reservation. The last guy took me on maybe one planned date in two years. I kept saying I wanted a me: someone thoughtful, someone who shows up and thinks ahead without being asked.
And then he showed up
This season, I decided to say yes. I've been recording before my dates. When someone asks for my number, I give it. And what I got was a slew of "what are you doing?" and "can we hang out?" and no plans.
Except one. One Leo, as a matter of fact.
He makes plans.
He sends a car. Every time. He asks me to just say when, I say when, and the car shows up. I don't know where I'm going until I get there. He remembers things I've told him and puts them into the dates. He texts me throughout the day, even if it's just an emoji, to let me know I'm on his mind. He's consistent. He's older. We've gone on more dates in one month than I normally go on in a quarter.
Two hours of just being intimate, no sex involved. That's my kind of thing.
And how do I get up in front of an audience and say that? Venus in Scorpio doesn't do casual. Dating casually scares the fuck out of me, and nothing about this has been casual.
So why haven't I posted?
Because I like him. A lot. And I'm terrified.
I'm the little kid in the movie theater covering her eyes because she can't handle what happens next, except what's on the screen is good. Being on autopilot, being taken care of, feels so good it's frightening. I'm Chicken Little, waiting for the day the sky falls and he doesn't text.
I've caught myself sabotaging. I see his message and wait to answer, not because I'm busy, but because vulnerability has cost me. The last two times in eight years I let my guard down, I paid for it, and then they doubled the tax.
I'm also tired. I'm a deeply all-in person, and part of me doesn't want to learn somebody else's favorite color. But I'm doing it anyway.
What I'm asking you
Bear with me. The recaps are vulnerable, and pressing play means showing you something I haven't fully let myself believe yet.
I also have to be honest about the harder stuff: that I let people treat me like less, and that I haven't always understood my own worth. I have to say that out loud before I show you anything, and that's the hard part.
I don't know where this goes. I just know I feel joy around love for the first time in a long time, and I promised I'd share it. Heartbreak sucks, and I've had more than my share. I'd love a win. I'm learning how to be someone who can receive one.
The videos are coming. I'm working up to it.
